Spirit of Japanese Craftsmanship
Mokumegane Wedding Rings
Hand Made in Japan
Originated in Japan, Mokumegane is an art that creates unique patterns in precious metals. The production of it is a long and challenging process, with many stages leading up to a finished ring. Mokumegane had its best days back in the Edo era about 400 years ago, but when samurai fell from the pinnacle of their power, this technique and the master craftsmen almost ended there. Today, only a handful of craftsmen left in the world who can master this ancient Japanese metal art, nonetheless, it managed to captivate the heart of an artisan from far across the world – Labro is a brand from Spain, where the founder moved to Japan in order to gather the master Mokumegane goldsmiths to keep this enigmatic and divine technique alive. Each wedding ring is individually handmade in Labro, connecting history and craftsmanship using their special technique, showing the metamorphosis of a symbol of love into wearable art.
