The “Pink Halo” Collection

The “Pink Halo” Collection
Pink, the colour of the Argyle Pink Diamonds;
Halo, the crown of light heightened by Dawn
Dawn Jewellery was appointed by the Australian Rio Tinto Group as the Argyle Pink Diamond Select Atelier, a title shared by only a handful of leading jewellers in the world. With the closure of the Argyle mine and its grand finale, Dawn Jewellery has created the “Pink Halo” collection with the team of craftsmen from Sunsmith, to unfold the halo of the rare pink diamonds.

Rio Tinto & Argyle Pink Diamond

Rio Tinto Group, a founding member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, is owner of the Argyle Diamond Mine located in Western Australia’s remote East Kimberley region.

Pink diamonds rank the highest among the red & blue in the world of coloured diamonds. They are found in Australia, India, Brazil, Africa and Indonesia. Among them, Argyle in Western Australia was the largest pink diamond producer in the world, accounted for more than 90% of global pink diamond supply, while the diamonds stand apart from their peers in terms of vibrancy and intensity of colour. Since the Argyle Pink Diamonds were unearthed in 1984, they have become a rising star in the colored diamond market, and yet only owned by a few.

After more than 30 years of popularity in the world, the legendary Argyle pink diamond mine was officially closed on November 30, 2020. The closure makes the already extremely precious pink diamonds even rarer.

Dawn Jewellery being appointed as the Select Atelier

An exclusive group of master craftsmen known as Select Ateliers have been appointed by Rio Tinto, owner of Argyle Diamond Mine, to ensure all market initiatives are in support of the standards of care and chain of custody that is set from the moment a rough Argyle pink diamond is unearthed until the time it is offered for purchase as a polished stone and jewellery. There are only 35 Select Atelier in the world, Dawn Jewellery is honoured to be one of them, and to represent Hong Kong in incorporating these most rare pink diamonds into our jewellery.
